1) Ciao e benvenuto su 3dagain, vuoi iniziare a raccontarci la tua prima esperienza con la CG?

Ciao ragazzi, grazie dell’accoglienza su 3dagain!
La mia prima esperienza con la CG? Tutta colpa dell’università! Il mio piano di studi prevedeva un corso di introduzione alla grafica 3d, con 3ds Max. Fu amore a prima vista. L’elaborato finale che realizzai andava ben al di là delle richieste del professore. Mi imbarcai in modellazione, rigging, animazione, lighting e rendering di un personaggio che viveva su un pianeta-orologio e alle 4 in punto ballava Stayin' Alive. Se lo guardo ora, mi viene da ridere!
Il corso di studi prevedeva un tirocinio, che scelsi di fare in Blisscomedia, famosa per il video di Blue (Da Ba Dee) degli Eiffel 65. Tramite il tirocinio conobbi lab10100, per cui lavorai per diversi anni.

Hi guys, thank you for having me here on 3dagain!
My first steps with CG? I blame the University of Turin! My classes included an introduction to 3ds Max. It was love at first sight. For the final exam of that course I went way beyond the professor’s expectations. I modeled, rigged, and animated a character living on a big watch and dancing to Stayin' Alive at 4 o’clock.
I had an internship for school credits at Blisscomedia, a production company well known for making the music video for Blue (Da Ba Dee), a song by Italian band Eiffel 65. Though Blisscomedia I got to know lab10100, where I have worked for few years.

1) Just for start... can you tell us "who are you" and your occupation in the world of VFX?

Hi, my name is David Meng, I am a designer of creatures through illustration and sculptures. I have been lucky enough to be doing this job for about eleven years now. I have been sculpting traditionally up until now, with plastaline clay, and this primarily happens during the concepting stage.
