Hello Patrice and welcome back on 3DAgain!
so... the last time I talk with you was in Paris for the master classes, the first edition, and I found really interesting event and it's very nice to see, after a couple days, you did already for a new edition. In the Masterclasess 2016 there are more guests and one more day ... can you tell us something more?
IAMAG ’16 Master Classes will take place from March 17th to March 20th in Paris and will include Daniel Holland (Pixar), Nicolas Prothais (Disney), Craig Mullins , Aaron McBride (ILM), Andrew Schmidt ( Dreamworks Animation ) Raphael Lacoste (Ubisoft),Marc Brunet (Blizzard), Carlos Baena (Animation Mentor), Ian McQue, Fausto De Martini, In-Ah Roediger (MPC), Mark Theriault, Marc Simonetti, Allan McKay, Anselm V. Seherr-Thoss
I think got an impressive team, whatever you’re looking to improve your skills in VFX, Animation Concept Art, Game Design
I saw that there will be a space/area dedicated to the review of the portfolio, reel and interview with companies, can you tell us?
At this moment I’m working closely with different companies to have the best experience possible regarding the recruitment. We’ll soon send a mail to all attendees regarding the way to apply before the event, but we’ll have some separate room to have private interviews.
Will there be many French Companies, Studios or students represented during this event?
At this moment we’ve two big french companies as sponsor, the french division of Adobe and the french division of Wacom. Sidefx joins us earlier too, but there’re based in Canada. There’re not so many other french division of companies that have showed interest, but let’s say it will happen next year :-)
For the Schools, lots of students from LISAA has benn really excited by the event and will be present, other than that, sadly we don’t get many feedbacks or interest from other.
For the studios, I’m still working a lot on this part to get some french on board, but today international studios are more interested, perhaps because they use to go to other events to recruit and have more experience with these kind of events.
The whole audience will be european, french people will represent only 20% of the audience so far, but it’s really not a problem for me as long as the event is known in Europe and in the world :-)
I notice the tickets were of different types and have gone literally sold very quickly. Can you talk about the different "types" of tickets?
I start to sold super-early tickets, early tickets, normal and then extra tickets. Now I won’t change the tag price anymore, $330 for 3 days. It could sound a bit high, but some events are selling tickets twice the price and as far as I know I’m one of the cheapest for 3 days.
It’s less than $100 per day to meet some of the best artists in this world, get your portfolio reviewed and perhaps get a job with one of the company represented during the event.
There are only a few places still avaible so if someone were not making it to take a ticket can buy a " Video ticket" right? Can you describe how it works?
The video ticket will be an edited version of the Master Classes. It won’t be a streamed version and available one week after the Event. We’d to remove some NDA parts and only people who’ll attend the event will be able to see some copyrights stuff.
So basically it will be something like 20 hours of videos, from 90% of the conference but without the NDA stuffs. Saying that we’re preparing some extra contents too exclusive to the video ticket.
The video ticket is also included with all normal tickets :-)
